The Charge and primary responsibility of the Committee is to review undergraduate courses (courses numbered 0001-4999), minor, certificate, and program proposals and changes after Division approval to verify that the proposal or change does not duplicate, without sufficient justification, a similar course, minor, certificate, or program already existing on the campus.
The membership of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee consists of:
(1) Chair, selected by the committee from its members, in consult with the VP for Undergraduate Studies
(10) Faculty members (a single representative from every campus unit that awards a bachelor’s degree, specifically from these units’ own curriculum committee. 3-year terms
(1) Undergraduate student appointed by MSA, 1-year term
(1) Ex-Officio from the Academic Advising Leadership Council
(2) Ex-Officio members from the University Registrar’s Office
(1) Ex-Officio member from Academic Advising
(1) Ad Hoc member from the Creative Writing Program
Note: any division which does not currently offer bachelor’s degrees may have an ex-officio representative.
(1) member of the committee will serve as the liaison to the Academic Affairs Committee.
