Non-Tenure Track Faculty Committee

Charge: To assess and make recommendations to University leaders regarding new and revised policies and practices affecting non-tenure track faculty holding a ranked faculty title.

The 2025-2026 Non-Tenure Track Faculty Committee Goals:

  1. Determine if the committee will move forward with the proposal to rename ‘Non-Tenure Track Faculty’ to ‘Professional Track Faculty’.
  2. Ensure each school/college and their respective departments have NTT promotion guidelines which are 1) provided to new NTT hires; 2) clear enough that they withstand leadership changes; 3) include what is to be included in the dossier; 4) ensure the review committee structure is well understood.
  3. Encourage each school/college to develop programs to support faculty who are going up for promotion.
  4. Ensure each school/college has a means to communicate with NTT faculty, either via listserv, Teams, or a list to facilitate the work of this committee.
  5. Ensure that faculty support programs are open to all NTT faculty.

The Membership of the Non-Tenure Track Faculty Committee is composed of 14 Ranked Faculty Representatives.
The committee chair is selected by the committee from among its elected members.
Committee Support is provided by the Office of the Provost

  • One representative selected by each of Mizzou’s academic schools and colleges
  • One representative selected by Extension
  • One representative selected by Mizzou Libraries
  • One representative selected by The MU Faculty Council on University Policy, serving as liaison to the Faculty Council
  • Ex-Officio member, Provost Designee, non-voting
