Charge

The charge to the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee is to advise the Chancellor and to consult with the director of Intercollegiate Athletics in all matters relating to intercollegiate athletics at MU. Committee recommendations to the Chancellor will be made in accordance with the policies of the Board of Curators, the University, and the applicable rules and regulations of any regional or national conference or association.

Areas of Focus for the 2025-2026 Academic Year will be updated during the Fall 2025 semester.

During the 2024-2025 Academic Year, the committee will focus on:

• The impact of the NCAA Settlement(s) within each sub-committee (academic affairs, fiscal affairs, compliance, gender equity and diversity, and student welfare)
• Curating a resource guide for IAC members and our representative communities.

Membership

The membership of the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee is composed of:

Chair: 1 Chair selected by Faculty Council.

Faculty: 14 Faculty Members, at large (Standing Committee Survey), 3-year terms

Staff: 2 Staff Members appointed by the Staff Advisory Council (need not be members), 3-year terms

NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative

Undergraduate Students: 2 students appointed by the Missouri Student Association (MSA),1-year term)

Graduate/Professional Students: 1 student appointed by the Graduate Professional Council (GPC, 1-year term)

Alumni Members: 4 determined by Intercollegiate Athletics
